Soul Eyes

i really find it strange that people see Western as being targeted at them to be honest. it has always been just how we see things. but i’m open to learning and understanding.

yeah and being someone who fits the description i have to say i never do just because, i’m first gen.

i HAVE to know how different i am in terms of how i operate on the axis of white supremacy vs someone that was born somewhere else, like my mother of father.

even when they do speak about obruni and being Canadian and Western

they only include me there if I DO SOMETHING OR SAY SOMETHING that would trigger foreign identity in their head

as a first-gen, if that makes any sense.

but true, i’m open to it as well because a lot of folk don’t read it like that and there’s nothing wrong with that. because when you aren’t accepted as part of your country to begin with as is the case for soooooooooooooooo many groups of people in what we understand Western countries to be,

the thought of being affiliated with that is just….all kinds of disgusting.

when as blackamazon and sooolondon have said are geographically a Western country, it makes you feel some kind of way.

so there’s a lot of different readings of this.

but it must be faced, you know?

it’s an important conversation to have.
